St. Patrick School is gearing up for another exciting and successful school year. The following is a list of what is new when we kick off the school year:
Administration: As most people are now aware, Mrs. Cortney Smith has been hired to serve as the Preschool through 8 th grade principal. Cortney officially started on July 1 and has been getting acclimated to her new position. Mr. Randy Hodge will serve as the high school principal for the 2019-20 school year while our pastor, Fr. Mike Alber will oversee the school in his role as Canonical Administrator.
Counselor: Mrs. Jenny Garcia has been hired to serve as our full-time counselor. She has spent the latter part of the school year as part-time counselor so the transition to full-time has also been ongoing throughout the summer.
1:1 Chromebook: We will have completed the process for all students in grades 6-12 to now have their own chromebook.
Virtue in Education: St. Patrick School will be implementing Education in Virtue® which is a Christian curriculum structured on the teachings of St. Thomas Aquinas regarding the virtues and gifts of the Holy Spirit. It aims to provide a consistent structure and systematic instruction for youth to learn about the virtues so that they can form the habits and dispositions necessary to live as disciples of Jesus Christ.
10 Point Grading Scale: St. Patrick School will be switching to a 10-point grading scale. This means the A range will now be 90-100%, B range 80-89%, C range 70-79%, D range 60-69% and
59% and lower is an F. The following grading scale will be used beginning this school year:
F 59 and below
Construction: The new roof has been installed on the school building over the summer and is ready to go for the new school year. The new gym floor is in the process of being installed and will be completed by the end of September. Work for the security grant will be completed during the school year.
